Welcome to the Temple

We are glad you have found your way to us, and we want to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible in the great family of the Tao. The following is a collection of information that you may find helpful.

Seating Arrangement

The suggested seating arrangement for the meeting emulates the yin and yang symbol: women to the left, men to the right as you face the podium or the white board.

Meeting Rituals

There is a mini-ritual at the beginning of the meeting, and one at the end of it. They are simple, short but meaningful rituals where we stand up and bow to express respect for the temple itself, the ordained Masters, and the process of sharing the Tao.

Appropriate Attire

Tao cultivators generally do not wish to draw attention to themselves, so they tend to dress neatly and conservatively when they come to the temple. They prefer to not be so casual as to wear things like shorts, sleeveless shirts, and slippers. This is one of the ways to demonstrate reverence and respect.

Contact Information

At the end of the meeting, please take a moment to write down your information in the book of contacts, so we can keep in touch with you.

Midday Ritual

From 12:30 to 1:00 p.m., people go upstairs for the midday ritual. Everyone is welcome to participate or observe. Men and women take turns practicing the ritual. When Senior Master Yang served as the head of the temple, women went first. Now Master Chen is the head of the temple, so men go through the ritual first.

Vegetarian Lunch

After the midday ritual, everyone is invited to lunch. We usually gather in a conference room where we can continue our discussions.

Contribution

There is no solicitation of donations at the temple. Those who still wish to contribute can always inquire at the front desk.

Upcoming Meetings

You can find the updated schedule for upcoming meetings at this web site. We hope you will check the schedule and return to the temple regularly.
